I believe it had some guppies in it, maybe a couple of oscars. Everything eventually died, and sadly, that is really all I remember.
Well there was a brief gap of about thirteen years, and BAM. I'm seventeen. For my birthday, I received a bunch of random stuff mostly, but the highlight items included somewhere around $250 and a 10 gallon fish tank starter kit from the high and mighty Wal-Mart!!! I must say, I was pretty dang excited. My sister already had a fish tank with a goldfish and other assorted fish, so that was what had me pumped to start up my own aquarium.
Okay, so I'll go ahead and get on with it. I learned from my sister and her boyfriend (the fish expert according to me) about all the rules, requirements, facts, etc... And it was time for me to get fish for my new 10 gallon tank! I was super excited to finally go shopping for my first pet fish. So we all made a trip down to the local PETCO and picked out the fish for my first aquarium! The fish I chose were four Tiger Barbs and a Red-Tailed Shark. Both species of fish really intrigued me. Mostly due to their unique color scheme they had going on. Very interesting to me. As soon as we got home, we climatized them to their new home, and set up the tank just how I wanted it. I knew that I had made the right choice in getting the fish I did. They fit the tank perfect!!! I was a happy fish owner... and would be from then on!
I still have that tank up and running with those same five fish! They are growing and looking healthier every day. Since then, I have made a few alterations on the tanks fish, and decoration. I made a trip down to a local river near my house and caught myself two Red Shiner Minnows! (or Red Horse Minnows) I always did love the look of these minnows, and thought they would be a great new addition to my tank - And they were! After improving their food and water quality, these minnows really turned out to be EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL! In my opinion anyway... Take a look for yourself:
Also, just the other day, I bought myself a Bumblebee Catfish to go in the tank with the others! It was kind of a spur of the moment action. I was just in PETCO again buying my sister some fish, and I saw this little splotched fishie and had to have him! He is super shy, so taking a successful picture of him proved to be difficult; nonetheless... Here he is!

Okay, so that pretty much sums it up for my ten gallon tank. It was a perfect way to start out my aquarium/fish collection.
So time ran on for a few weeks and my sister brings home a 30 gallon tank that she got for FREE! I was pretty shocked that someone would just give it a way, but was even more shocked to find out that it was for ME! Once again, I was pumped. So... I guess to make a long story short, I set it up with a blue/black theme. Everything in there is fake except a couple of rocks. BUT, It looks pretty sweet in my opinion. The fish I now have in this aquarium are as follows: 1 Irredescent Shark, 1 Silver Tipped Catfish, 2 Bala Sharks, 1 Angelfish, 4 Zebra Danios, and 4 Black Neons! I used to have more angelfish and neons, but my irredescent shark got a little hungry...
I know, I know... That is a lot of fish for just a 30 gallon tank, but they are all very small. Every single fish I bought was very very young. But they are growing. Which leads me to my next addition! That I will bring up in just a second! First, I shall show you a picture of my 30 gallon tank as it is today!
